The Foreign Office has announced that it will contribute £100,000 to the Council of Europe’s global project on cyber crime.
The cash injection will boost funding for international regional workshops to train law enforcement agencies and thejudiciary, strengthening legislation, and promoting international co-operation and collaboration between the private and public sectors.
Foreign Secretary William Hague said: “At the London Conference on Cyberspace I made clear that the rapid rise of cyber crime is a growing threat to people across the world and I made clear the need for coordinated response to improve security, enhance cooperation between states and ensure a collective undertaking to address this threat.”
